Obituary of Karen Sue Broyles

Karen Sue Broyles, 63-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. She was born March 10, 1960, in Doniphan, MO, to the late Raymond and Louise (Owens) Townsend.

Karen had worked for over 30 years at Vitronic where her warm and friendly personality made her coworkers into dear friends. Her life revolved around her family, especially her granddaughter, Marlena. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband, Rick, and was always ready for the next adventure they would head out on. Karen liked to sew and shop at flea markets. Active in her church, Faith Life Christian Church, Karen was a big help with church dinners and served in children’s church and Vacation Bible School, showering those around her in love.

On September 16, 2010, Karen married Rick Broyles in Doniphan, MO. He survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Prentha Wertenberger of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Teresa LaBryer of Doniphan and Mary McCracken of Ellsinore, MO; her granddaughter, Marlena Wertenberger; and many friends and loved ones.

A memorial visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
