Obituary of Cecile Maxine Watson
Cecile’s career outside the home took many avenues from working at Vitronic, where she made many dear friends, to helping at the sawmill and working for the Forest Service. Cecile was skilled at stripping wire. Even with all these activities, she was still devoted to taking care of her family and keeping her home warm and welcoming with her delicious pies and immaculate lawn. Cecile enjoyed relaxing with a good book. Cecile attended Twin Pines Pentecostal Church.
On August 2, 1952, in Grand Round, OR, Cecile married Lonnie Eugene Watson. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Peggy (Robert) Yount of Doniphan, David (Barbara) Watson of Paragould, AR, and Randy Watson of Gainsville, MO; brothers, Kenneth McKnight and Richard McKnight, both of Willamina, OR; grandchildren, Benjamin, Stephen, Christina, Karen, Jermiah, Tabetha, Matthew, and Adam; 27 great-grandchildren; and a cherished family friend.
In addition to her parents, Cecile was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Watson; a daughter-in-law, Shelia Watson; her sisters, Ruth, Wanda, Marge, Barbara, and Zora; and two brothers, Ronald McKnight and Marvin McKnight.
Visitation will be held in the Edwards funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, November 9, 2023, beginning at11:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Brother J. W. Johnson will be officiating, and burial will be in the Bardley Cemetery.
