Nalla "Jean" Hudgens, 71, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Jean, daughter of Gilbert and Virginia Mae (Kirby) Gwin, was born August 25, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a housewife and enjoyed puzzle books, handcrafts and doing income taxes.
On April 23, 1970, she was married to Aubrey Hudgens in Caruthersville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1998.
Surviving are three children: Lucinda (and Howard) Hall, Twynette Nobles and Walter Dean "Red" Sweet, all of Doniphan; two sisters, Juanita Cagle of Granite City, Illinois, and Pauline Turnbough of Osage Beach, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kenneth (and Dena) Hall, James (and Ashley) Hall and Lisa (and David) Daily; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, William Edward Sweet, one sister, Barbara Turnbough, one brother, Gilbert Gwin, Jr. and two grandchildren, Wesley Nobles and Michael Scott Hall.
Visitation for Mrs. Hudgens will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning, February 18, 2012, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Wes Flaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan Cemetery.
