Obituary of Gary Dewayne Kerr

Gary Dewayne Kerr, 67-year-old resident of Grandin, MO, departed this life Tuesday, March 12, 2024. He was born on May 19, 1956, in Parma in New Madrid County, MO, to Charles Evans Kerr and Sally (Gilpin) Kerr.

Gary had served in the United States Navy. He was a devoted Husband, Daddy, and Poppy who enjoyed each moment spent with family, especially his grandchildren, and his friends. He loved life on the farm and would relax reading a good Western.

On March 14, 1980, Gary married Rita Waldrup in Parma, MO, and she survives. Also surviving is his mother, Sally Kerr; his daughters, Sara Ellen Lindsey of Bernie, MO and Jessica Arinda Kerr of New Madrid, MO; his sisters, Jane Staates, Pat Manes, Debbie Bader, and Cathy Smart; brothers, James Kerr, Jim Kerr, Mike Kerr, Terry Kerr, David Kerr, and Allen Kerr; grandchildren, Bradley, Blair, Ivan, Johnnie Sue, Brody, and Jacie Jo; and three great-grandchildren, Bennett, Sadie, and Isla.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Kerr, and a brother, Charles F. Kerr.

A memorial visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
