I have known Don since 1953. That's 71 years of close friendship that spanned our lives from our teens riding around, fixing his 55 Chevy, visiting the local greasy spoon for coffee with the cool uniform of the day (tight white T-shirt with a pack of cigarettes rolled up in the sleeve).
We joined the USMC together when we turned 18. After leaving the Corps, he pursued a great career, raised a wonderful family and many grandchildren.
We kept in contact through the suffering of Dawn. He did the same for me when my beautiful wife Ginette suffered with cancer.
I have included two articles, with pictures of us (Mutt and Jeff).
Donald G. Harring was a true patriot, who loved his country and the military. He was a gentleman, a great friend, and will be sorely missed.
God Bless.
Rest in peace.

Where do you start? We all know that these days are coming but we are never prepared. For almost 13 years you were not only my father-in-law but you were also one of my best friends. We made and shared so many memories together. You especially loved coming to crappie fish with me but you loved eating them more than you did catching them. Imagine that. We shared many hunting and fishing trips together. We worked together. I was in the National Guard when we met and I was instrumental in getting you to join and you had a good career there until retirement. As some of these young people would say you were my "ride or die" friend. I love you dearly Don Harring. Rest in peace my friend. Job well done.
