Obituary of Dale Edward Pruitt
Dale Edward Pruitt, 70-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Tuesday, April 30, 2024. He was born January 17, 1954, in Hayti, MO, to the late Ollie (Garner) Motley.
Dale had retired from Chrysler. He was skilled in multiple trades including carpentry and working on and rebuilding cars. He found joy being on his tractor on the farm and going to races. Dale had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
On January 14, 2004, Dale married Brenda Ellis in Ripley County. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Dawn (Louis) Nolfo of Wildwood, MO and James “Dale” (Latisha) Pruitt of Festus, MO; stepchildren, Charlene Marie (Michael) Mills of Doniphan and Gary Lee (Jamie) Stout of Festus; sisters, Glenda Garner of Poplar Bluff and Shirley Langworthy of Doniphan; a brother, James (Roxie) West of Doniphan; and nine grandchildren, Parker Nolfo, McKenna Mills, Hailey Pruitt, Choilynn Stout, Carter Nolfo, Gary Lee Stout, III, Cooper Nolfo, Lucas Pruitt, and Easton Lee Mills.
Dale was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Lesley Ann Fitzgerald, and sisters, Vetra Peoples, Linda Ellis, Rhonda Scrivner, and Jenny Woodson.
Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 4, 2024, beginning at 12:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
