He knows my family long time I remember going swimming at Dennis place wen Shelia Jackson was over the youth group since he open his stores wen I was younger we would go to tin lize wen it was a restaurant to eat if we had the money we went to Emmanuel Baptist Church with his family and would help us if we need it he would be rember for a long time and my parents know him very well and be missed

Dennis Smith was always the life of the party at family gatherings .The Browning's of Independence Missouri looked forward to Thanksgiving and summer get togethers in Doniphan .We also had huge Christmases at Eugene and Zola's house in Independence ,Mo .Dennis always took the Family Picture at Christmas watching our family grow. We treasure those photos. Water sports also were enjoyed on the Current River and Lake of the Ozarks. We miss him, but I bet he's having a great reunion with everyone in Heaven. To the family of Dennis our prayers are with you he was such a nice and sweet man he came to out yardsales alot every time I had them he actually bought a martini set and had it refurbished and an old picture of a place that him and genie had went to a long long time ago and after he got the Martini set redone he made sure to bring it back by and let us see it he very proud to add it to the rest of his collection of items

To the Smith family, sorry for you your loss of Dennis. When my dad Dr GW Dickerson could not pick me up he asked Dennis to go to Memphis airport several times during 1966 and pick me up when I was coming home from military school in Ft Lauderdale Florida.When Vergie and I got married in 1989 we bought a dining room set at Smiths furniture and he let us pay weekly for that he even let us take it home that day and we still are using it today. Dennis And Genie was always nice to our family may god bless your family Kent KD and Vergie Dickerson

Prayers for your family. Dennis was one of the nicest & most friendly man I have ever met. He never failed to greet me with a big smile and always stopped to chat every time he saw me. It will be a great loss to our community not seeing him out and about greeting people with a smile and kind words. A great man. He will be missed.

Dennis, with his characteristic love and profound selflessness, was undoubtedly a guiding light for us all. His wisdom often laced with humor would touch our hearts while his thoughtfulness never failed to bring joy. The generous spirit that distinguished him as a wonderful friend will forever remain in my memories. May he rest eternally at peace, leaving behind the echoes of his vibrant soul that continue inspiring everyone who knew him. When I think of Dennis I will forever picture him on his beloved tractor.
