Obituary of Joe Belanger
Joseph Gerard Belanger, 70-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Monday, September 9, 2024. He was born June 11, 1954, in St. Louis, MO, to the late William and Nancy (Brown) Belanger.
Joe had been a mechanical engineering supervisor. He had also served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After retiring and moving to Doniphan, Joe had been able to realize a lifelong dream of establishing an orchard and vineyard. He also enjoyed the hunting and fishing opportunities the area offered. He was of the Southern Baptist faith. Joe had a warm personality, and a person was immediately impressed by his friendly disposition and kindness.
On September 12, 2000, Joe married Edith “Edee” Weiss in Lake Tahoe, NV. She survives. Also surviving are his four children, Brandi (Jim) Tieken of Hillsboro, MO, Bernadette (Tim) Kennedy of New Orleans, LA, Andrew J. (Jessica) Belanger of Hillsboro, MO, and Jessica (Tony) Brinley of Festus, MO; sisters, Jane Belanger, Mary Hemphill, and Ellen Raskin; brothers, Jeff, John, Paul, and Andrew Belanger, and seven grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Belanger.
