Nancy Carol (Burkhart) Powell, 67, of Memphis, Tennessee, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the V. A. Hospital in Memphis.
Ms. Powell, daughter of Carl Wellington and Grace (Lee) Burkhart, was born April 24, 1945, in Oakland, California. She had been a nurse in the healthcare profession and loved animals and interior design. Ms. Powell was a sponsor of Haven House and had been an advocate for women's abuse. She was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Surviving is one son, Darren Powell, of Memphis.
Visitation will be Friday evening, May 4, 2012, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will start Saturday afternoon, May 5, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Naylor Cemetery in Naylor, Missouri.
