Gerold Melvin Young, 70, of Oxly, Missouri, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Young son of Melvin & Ruth (Maynard) Young, was born June 7, 1941, in Delaplaine, AR. He was an owner/operator of Fairdealing Tool and Die and a member of the Doniphan First Baptist Church. Mr. Young enjoyed hunting and spending time with his children and grandchildren. On November 26, 1959, he was married to Carolyn Burpo at Rockford IL. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons: Rick (Lois) Young of Rockford, IL & Jeff (Cindy) Young of Park Hills, MO; two daughters Renee (Jason) Wyatt of Bloomfield & Tiffany (Freddie) Johnson of Marble Hill; grandchildren Stephanie Young, Candace Wyatt, Jared Wyatt, Matthew Johnson, Brittany Johnson, & Jacquelyn Johnson; two sisters, Geneva Hill of Hoxie, AR & Glenda Havens of Byron, IL; six brothers Paul Young of Show Low, AZ, Ray Young & Herbert Young both of Phoenix, AZ, Clarence Young & Cloyce Young both of Naylor, and Donald Young of Fairdealing,
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Janson Wyatt, one sister Juanita Young and one brother Earl Young.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening, May 20, 2012, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will start Monday, May 21, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Doniphan with Dr. Mike Phelps officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
