Veleara Powell Lott Lindsey, 87, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Friday, September 14, 2012, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mrs. Lindsey, daughter of John David and Nancy (Smith) Powell, was born February 18, 1925, in Morgan County, Alabama. She had been a bookbinder. Mrs. Lindsey enjoyed quilting, ceramics, fishing and gardening.
She first married Dewey Lott and he preceded her in death. She later married Leonard Lindsey and he also preceded her in death.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Lindsey was preceded in death by her parents, John David and Nancy Smith; four sisters, Vada Laningham, Ada Hathcoat, Mae Hulse and Frances Odel Hearst; and four brothers, J. B. Powell, Claude Powell, Oscar Powell and J. C. Powell.
Visitation for Mrs. Lindsey will be Saturday evening, September 15, 2012, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow Sunday afternoon, September 16, 2012, beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Brother John Harwell officiating. Burial will be in the Towles Cemetery.
