Obituary of Marcella Ator

Minda Marcella Ator, 88, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, January 10, 2008, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.
Mrs. Ator was born January 13, 1919, in Pittman, Arkansas. She had worked as a sales clerk with the Jones Store in Doniphan for over 30 years and enjoyed sewing and fishing. Mrs. Ator was president of the Business and Professional Women's Club in 1967, a member of the Doniphan United Methodist Church and was very active in the Eastern Star, serving as 52nd District Deputy Grand Matron in 1969.
On August 6, 1937, she was married to Hile Laverne Ator at Harrisburg, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1990.
Mrs. Ator is survived by one brother, Weslie Pierce, of Belleville, Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas Pierce and Zelpha Mae Largent, three brothers, Almus Pierce, A. B. Pierce and Leslie Pierce and two sisters, Beulah Reeves and Edna Young.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 12, 2008, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Sunday, January 13, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. with Brother Kent Wilfong officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Doniphan United Methodist Church.
