Hazel June Ayers, 79, of Gatewood, Missouri, died Friday, January 18, 2008.
Mrs. Ayers was born January 27, 1928, at Braggadocio, Missouri. She was a homemaker who enjoyed wild plants, bird watching, and gardening. She was a member of the Missouri Native Plant Society, Ponder Booster Club, a past Girl Scout Troop Leader and was a member of the Ponder Church of Christ.
On August 28, 1947, she married William Delbert Ayers in Caruthersville, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1986.
Surviving are one son, Troy Ayers of Gatewood and one daughter, Cindy Bridges of Couch, Missouri; two brothers, Joe Wilbanks of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Bill Wilbanks of Pocahontas, Arkansas; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Talmus & Eula Bell (Panter) Wilbanks; three sons, Talmus Ayers, Steven Ayers and Victor Ayers and one daughter, June Ayers.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 20, 2008, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Funeral services will be Monday, January 21, at 10:00 am with burial being at Ponder Cemetery with Bro. Harvey Seagraves officiating.
