Obituary of Helen Orick

Helen Delora Orick, 73, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan. Mrs. Orick, daughter of Cecil and Nettie (Bowers) Hampton, was born July 15, 1939, in Arkansas. She had retired from Vitronic Manufacturing in Doniphan. Mrs. Orick enjoyed judicial programs on TV, especially Judge Judy, and was a great cook. She was a member of Bellview Baptist Church. Mrs. Orick loved being with her children and grandkids and especially enjoyed family gatherings. When she was physically able, she liked being outdoors. She was married to Thomas Orick in Doniphan and he preceded her in death on May 16, 1986. Surviving are two daughters, Marsha Little of Doniphan and Joni (and Pat) Mulvaney of Winona, Missouri; four sons, David (and Cheryl) Samples, Randy (and Veronica) Orick and Steve Orick, all of Doniphan and Benjamin (and Ramona) Orick of Biggers, Arkansas; three brothers, Earl (and Laverne) Hampton of Advance, Missouri, and Cecil (Junior) Hampton and Ronnie Hampton, both of Doniphan; one sister-in-law, Betty Hampton of Fairdealing, Missouri; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Tommy Orick, one grand-daughter, one grandson-in-law, three sisters, Magdalene, Barb and Joyce, two brothers, Bill and Paul, and one special friend, Larry Call. "All our hearts are grieving but we know now Mom is breathing, laughing and talking with all her loved ones, especially her beloved son, Tommy. We love you, Mom." Visitation will be Friday evening, January 11, 2013, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Saturday morning, January 12, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Wes Flaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Bellview Cemetery.
