Josephine Daisy Bickford, 82, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, February 4, 2013, at her residence in rural Doniphan.
Mrs. Bickford, daughter of Buddy and Vera (Chillia) Berry, was born June 25, 1930, in Belleville, Illinois. Mrs. Bickford's father passed away in 1946 and her mother remarried Harry R. Beaman. Mrs. Bickford loved being around people and had owned restaurants in Collinsville, Illinois, bars in St. Louis and apartment houses in University City. In 1965 she built a boarding home in Doniphan. She loved her children, grandchildren, cooking and having people with her. Mrs. Bickford's son, Mel, and grandson, Shawn, were with her when she died.
Surviving are four children, Mel Bickford, Rex Bickford and Donna Phelps, all of Doniphan and John Bickford of New York.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Edward Bickford, and her parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at her residence 3 miles north of Doniphan on highway 21 north, left-hand side of road.
