Obituary of Kenneth Foster

Kenneth B. Foster August 5, 1927 - February 23, 2008 Kenny was born August 5, 1927, in Collinsville, IL. At fifteen he started working with race horses at the stock yards in St. Louis, and later became a jockey. He won many races and awards until being drafted into the Army on August 29, 1952. He served in the Army until July 26, 1954; during this time he fought in the Korean War, and was awarded three medals. Later he worked with the National Forest Park Department for several years. He was married to Christine (Gentry) March on January 7, 1972, she survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Romona Larson (James) of Poplar Bluff, MO; Claudetta Littrell (Elmer) and Roseann March; two sons, Dalton March (Deborah) and Lynn March (Becky) all of Doniphan. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Eva Gentry, fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and four nephews. Along with many other family and friends that were dear to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Myrtle Foster; one sister, Billie Joe (Foster) Boyer; one brother, Richard (Dick) Foster; and one son Alden March. Kenny enjoyed horses, reading, fishing, and watching westerns. He was a member of West Point UPC and attended when he was able. Visitation will be February 25 from 5-8 PM at Edwards Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tues February 26 at 2 PM at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Carr officiating. Burial will follow at Amity Cemetery, with full military honors.
