I was very fortunate and blessed to have such a loving, generous, compassionate, and warm hearted grandma. She truly was a remarkable woman, who genuinely cared for the well-being of others. I have many fond memories at grandma’s house. One memory that sticks out in my mind is driving her riding lawn mower on her land. Of course I didn’t know how to mow; I just loved driving it around. This was definitely evident by the uneven and jagged lines I made with the lawn mower. But, grandma let me do it anyways because she knew I enjoyed it. Another memory I won’t forget is that grandma would always make me sauerkraut when I came over. I had a difficult time pronouncing it and would ask grandma to please make me sauer-crap. Still makes me laugh to this day! I will miss you grandma, but I know that you are in a better place now. You will always be with me in my heart and my memories. Love you grandma!

Elenore laughed to think of anyone getting lost in Story! It was a story she loved to retell. My grandchildren remember that after eating all their cereal Elenore made them drink the remaining milk from the bowl. She loved all her students. She talked of how she worried about the ones who were not doing so well and the pride she shown when they suceeded. She loved her career of teaching. She loved her family and was proud of her sons. They meant everything to her. What a party the family that passed before her are having in heaven. No pain or earthly forces are holding them down. I belive Elenore is laughing and remembering all the fun times and dancing to all the heavenly music. I wish George and I could be at the funeral to honor Elenore and to be with the family. George and I are not in the best of health and aren't able to make the trip at this time. Please know that we are with you in our thoughts and prayers and that we loved your mom. She will be missed by all who knew her as she touched so many lives. We love you, George and Jacquie

I remember the first time I met Elenore. I was going to Wyoming to meet George's mother. He told me that I would meet his sister's too. " You and Charolette will get along just fine but I don't know about Elenore. She is very outspoken and will tell you exactly how she feels." I was terrified. I just knew I was up against a large rock...Well, I found out that that "rock" was made of mush and was full of fun!!! Elenore was suppose to get her mom's dining room chairs repaired. We went over to a charity place to have person's with disabilities fix the chairs. It was a place that Elenore thought would fit the bill but she made me swear to keep it a secret as her mom wouldn't approve. From that day one we were comrades in crime. We all went to her aunt's House, on the farm, to eat dinner. Elenore and I teased each other so bad that we got the "evil eye" from her mother. Believe me, you never want to get her evil eye. Needless to say we shaped up immediately until we were alone in the kitchen doing dishes where we commenced with our tomfoolerly. The time I saw Elenore laugh the hardest was when we went to the fish hatchery in Story. George and Elenore went for a walk while Charolette and I went to get some soda at a store we had passed a few blocks before. (continued)
