Dear family of David, My condolences on your loss. I wish to share comfort from the Bible. The scriptures hold out a wonderful hope for our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. The wonderful future resurrection hope is the promise found at John 5:28,29 Another wonderful future promise is found at Revelation 21:3,4 where it states that pain and death will be no more. The former things will have passed away. At that future time we will be able to welcome back to the earth our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death.
