Robert Martin "Bob" Murdock, 79, of Ponder, Missouri, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at the Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, Tennessee.
Mr. Murdock was born January 5, 1929, at Ponder, Missouri. A life-long resident of the area he was in the timber business and also farmed. Mr. Murdock was a member of the Missouri Farm Bureau, A.S.C. and Gatewood School Board and attended the Ponder Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
On April 2, 1949, he was married to Betty Fay Webb at Pocahontas, Arkansas. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons; Wendell Murdock and his wife, Judy, of Gatewood, Missouri, Daniel Murdock and his wife, Peggy, of Doniphan, Missouri, and Doug Murdock and his wife, Kim, of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; two daughters, Roberta Belcher and her husband, Raymond, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Susan Johnson of Doniphan, Missouri; three sisters, Iola Holland and Judith Hinton both of Doniphan, Missouri, and Sybil Hudson of Gatewood, Missouri; three brothers, Cleo Murdock of Millington, Tennessee, Lyndal Murdock of Harviell, Missouri, and Jim Murdock of Doniphan, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Mr. Murdock was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Eathel Hudson Murdock.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, July 2, 2008, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Thursday morning, July 3, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Harvey Seagraves officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
