Obituary of Dewey Larmie

Dewey Grant Larmie, 82 year old resident of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Life Care Nursing Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. Mr. Laramie was born March 20, 1931 in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served in the Korean Conflict and was also a pipefitter and member of the Pipefitter's Local 562 of St. Louis, MO for 60+ years. Mr. Larmie was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3838 of Cape Girardeau; a member of the Cape Girardeau Eagles and Elks Club; and he was also involved in Veterans Now, which is an organization of Veterans helping Veterans. He enjoyed woodworking and painting.
He was married to Margaret Ann Bacon and she preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his parents, Chester and Tula Perry Larmie; brothers Edmond (Tex) Larmie and Chester (Chettie) Larmie; and his sister Phyllis Ann Larmie.
Mr. Larmie is survived by siblings, Pat (Randy) Brooks of Auburndale, FL; Garnell Friend and Barbara Swofford of Winter Haven, FL; Peggy Gass and Robert (Shirley) Larmie of Poplar Bluff. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him.
Funeral services for Mr. Larmie will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 23, 2014 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday. Burial with full military honors will be in the Macedonia Cemetery.
