Joyce Joan "Joy" Bratys, 83, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Saturday, August 2, 2014, at the Current River Nursing Home in Doniphan.
Mrs. Bratys, daughter of Frank and Rosemary Drudzinski, was born March 27, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio. She was a housewife. Mrs. Bratys enjoyed volunteering at Worthington Hospital as a "Pink Lady" and loved children.
She was first married to Rodney Francis "Bud" Cornwell in Toledo, Ohio. She later married Bernard I. Bratys, also in Toledo and he died May 20, 2012.
Surviving are one son, James Edward "Jim" (and Sue) Cornwell of Doniphan; one sister, Sherry (and Mike) Madison of Toledo; two grandchildren, Daniel James (and Jayme) Cornwell and Bonnie Rose (and Cory) Kernan; two step-grandchildren, Kristin Machynski and Ani (and Peter) Weinman; and one step great-grandchild, Simon Corven.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, John (Jack) Drudzinski.
A private memorial is planned.
