Elizabeth Ilene Henderson, 90,of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Henderson was born September 28, 1923, in Coffeyville, KS, to the late Sharon and Ola Mae Rogers Harrington. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Doniphan and was active in the CWF group. She was an avid reader, and loved the river and fishing with her husband. She also enjoyed gardening, her butterfly garden, and loved animals.
On October 7, 1939, in Thayer, MO, she was married to Lester C. Henderson, who preceded her in death March 27, 2000. Also preceding her in death was a son, Thomas H. Henderson.
Surviving are two sons, David Henderson of Camden, Maine, and Roger Henderson of Johnstown, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Elaine Marten of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren, and several great and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Henderson will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Doniphan, with Rev. John Harwell officiating. Visiting will be Tuesday, August 12, 2014, in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel from 5-8 P.M. Burial will be in the Doniphan Cemetery.
