Obituary of Edith Paquette

Edith Wanda (Heise) Paquette, 87 years old, was born June 23, 1927, in Halfway (now Eastpointe), Michigan, and died August 18, 2014, in the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan, Missouri. She had lived in Doniphan for the last 39 years. Until residing at the nursing home, she was an active member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, in Doniphan.
Throughout her life, she loved gardening, cooking, sewing, crocheting and quilting. Edith started a quilting club that still meets at the nutrition center where she volunteered. She also volunteered at the community pantry. For many years, while living in Michigan, she was a jeweler.
Edith was married to Walter Paquette in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ken, in 2001. She is survived by three daughters - Kathy (Al) Cunningham of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Beverly (Don) Watt of Ontario, Canada, and Carolyn (Walt) Burger of Southfield, Michigan; five grandchildren - Jeremy, Megan, Jodi, Sarah and Lauren; and two great grandchildren - Rylee and Gage. One sister, Marie Decker, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, August 20, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Thursday morning, August 21, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Doniphan. Burial will be at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery, in Clinton Township, Michigan, on Monday.
