Coach Rickus was one of the best teachers We ever had at Doniphan. I had him for biology and it was my favorite class. I think of him often in my high school memories, as I'm sure many of us do. To his family, I am so sorry for your loss. He has influenced more lives than he could have ever know. I will miss him dearly.

I learned on this morning of the passing of a great friend. While broadcasting sports for Kennett High School for many years, I considered it a treat to enjoy, in particular, Ed's humor. I'll always feel privileged to have enjoyed the friendship of Ed and Roselea. I know my heartfelt loss will be shared by everyone fortunate to have known him. Dennis Nail Kennett, Mo.

I'm so sad to hear of the passing of Ed. When I worked at the radio station in Doniphan, he was always helpful. When I officiated games at Doniphan, he never had a bad word to say about the officials, fans, other team, etc. It won't be the same not seeing him at various sporting events around Southeast Missouri. My thoughts and prayers are with Rosalea and family during this difficult time. Most of us can only hope to be remembered the way Ed will be and the world definitely needs more folks like him!

I'm so sorry to hear of Coach's passing. I have nothing but good memories of him from my high school days. He was a good man, a good role model, and a good friend. I pray that you are able to dwell on the good memories, also. I've heard it said that death is just a natural part of life, but I don't believe it. God never intended for his children to suffer and die - and that's why it is so hard for us to accept the death of a loved one. I pray that God will send His Holy Spirit to comfort you.
