John Eugene Simon, 68, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Southeast Health of Ripley County.
Mr. Simon, son of John and Lucille (Boshears) Simon, was born November 16, 1945, in Doniphan. He had been a welder at American Car Factory. Mr. Simon enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing poker.
Surviving are two daughters: Julie Simon of St. Louis, Missouri, and Shelly Yarber of High Ridge, Missouri; one sister, Mary Durbin of Doniphan; and 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Simon was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Robert John Simon, and one brother, Paul Simon.
Visitation for Mr. Simon will be held Friday, October 31, 2014, starting at noon at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Kent Harding officiating. Burial will be in the Elizabeth Cemetery.
