Mary Ellen (Franke) Kostecka, 73, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Mrs. Kostecka, daughter of the late Theodore and Virginia (Nowicki) Piasecki, was born December 9, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois. She had been a hospital secretary.
On July 9, 1966, she was married to Walter Joseph Franke, Jr. and he preceded her in death on December 1, 2009.
Surviving are two sons: Mike Franke of Doniphan and Wally (Angie) Franke of Ozark, Missouri; 5 sisters, Sally Brown, Susan Baker, Linda Conciser, Frances Harris and Katherine Clark; 5 brothers, Theodore Piasecki, Frank Piasecki, Thomas Piasecki, Edmond Piasecki and John Piasecki; 6 grandchildren, Ashley, Tiffany, Monica, Mindy, Randa and Becca and 4 great-grandchildren, Anesa, Jaymen, Tanner and Chase.
Visitation will take place Friday evening, January 9, 2015, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. A Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow Saturday afternoon, January 10, 2014, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Doniphan. Burial will be in the Bloomfield Veteran's Cemetery.
