Brumitts-one and all. In growing up in Doniphan Dick was always there for me. Whether to offer encouragement, advice, or just a friendly greeting those acts are memorable and made an impression. I know my parents also respected Dick and valued his friendship. In particular I know Dad always considered Dick a character in the good sense of the word. Dick's name and his ;latest cost saving exploit always came up when I visited with Dad. He'll be missed.

I met Mr. Brummitt at the Ben Franklin Five and Dime Store in Doniphan when I was six years old and buying my first baseball glove. Dick's lifetime support of aRea sports programs is unparalleled in the history of Ripley County. His selfless dedication to all participants had no bounds. After being assigned to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida 34 years ago, the first stop on my annual sojourns to Doniphan was at his little sports store ajacent to Heritage Park. There we would sit for a couple of hours and catch up on each others lives. He was a great listener and quick to compliment one's noteworthy successes. Prior to the end of each conversation, we would set a date and time for our annual golf outing. I have so many memorable moments with Dick at the store and on the greens. I shall forever cherish them. Ripley County has lost a great friend to all, and God has gained another angel. Rejoice in Heaven my friend. I pray that we meet again in God's Kingdom.

Barbara and all the Brumitt Family, you have our sympathy for the loss of your Outstanding Husband and Father. Dick Brumitt was a mainstay, a pillar of support for his fellow man and community! He will always be remembered for the kindness that he showed to others and the mentoring of so many young people as they struggled forward to be successful in life! Dick was also very fortunate to have a very loving and dedicated wife who jointly strived to improve the quality of life for others around them! Our community and all those that knew Dick Brumitt owe him a great deal of gratitude for his kindness and positive outlook on life that he shared with us! Thankfully we’ll always have the memories of what a truly great person he was! Our Thoughts, Prayers and Love go out to all of you during this time of sadness… Love Always, Harry T. (HT) and Michelle Herring

My sincerest condolences to you all. One of the highlights of visiting Doniphan with my dad (Cliff Griffin) was to stop in at the store to see Mr. Brumitt and my Aunt Ruth. He was so kind to visit with us when my dad and Grandmother (Verneal) passed away. A truly wonderful man who I will hold in my memories. God Bless.

Mr.E Brumitt was one of the nicest men who ever walked the face of this earth, He always had a kind word and a quick laugh. He was my favorite coach during the 1960s. I last saw him in 2004 when visiting my mother in Doniphan. He saw me and said, "Let's go to the ballpark I'll hit you some grounders". We both laughed. I was honored and blessed to have known him. My condolences to his family.
