Obituary of David Tettleton

David Eugene Tettleton, 67, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Friday, January 23, 2009, at the John J. Pershing Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mr. Tettleton, son of the late Johnie Allen and Fern Christine (Dodd) Tettleton, was born October 21, 1941, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was a self-employed bulldozer operator and enjoyed working with heavy equipment and raising cattle. Mr. Tettleton was a member of the Currentview Church of Christ and was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Vietnam. On June 4, 1963, he was married to Margaret Berry in Doniphan. She survives. Also surviving are one brother-in-law/son, Tony Ward of Bernie, Missouri; three sisters, Glenda Joplin of Oxly, Missouri, Linda Hudson of Hillsboro, Missouri, and Gayla Ballard of Searcy, Arkansas; two brothers, Henry Tettleton and Dwight Tettleton, both of Doniphan; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. A son, Johnie Eugene Tettleton, preceded him in death on August 10, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Davis. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, January 25, 2009, from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Charles Hughes and Brother Wilburn Baucom officiating. Burial will follow in the Towles Cemetery.
