Obituary of Floyd Lavern Coonce

Floyd Lavern Coonce, 83, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Thursday, September 15, 2022. He was born July 28, 1939, in Ripley County, MO, to Floyd and Jessie (Patterson) Coonce.

 

“Floyd L.” had been the Director of Consumer Service with General Electric Co. His love of traveling took him many places for him to sightsee and explore. He enjoyed Bluegrass music and served on the board at the Dinner Theater in Pocahontas. “Floyd L” gave freely of his time to the community serving as a member of the Ripley County Chamber of Commerce, volunteering at the Food Pantry, and as a board member for the Sheltered Workshop. He had also served our country in the United States Army.

 

In addition to his parents, “Floyd L.” was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon Ray Coonce.

 

A graveside service will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO on Friday, September 23, 2022, at noon.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Current River Sheltered Workshop or the Food Pantry.
